"ZAF RIN" is a portable "orin" (singing bowl) created to bring your awareness back to the "here and now" through sound. Designed with an integrated cushion, it is stable whether placed on a surface or held in the hand, allowing for quiet ringing.
【You can choose from two types of "orin".】
・Takaoka-made: An orin meticulously crafted by artisans in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, a town known for its Buddhist altar fittings. Despite its small size, it features a calm, beautiful sound like a tranquil sea, and deep reverberations.
・Highest grade "Sahari": A high-grade metal from the Nara period, with examples preserved in the Shosoin Treasury. It produces a clear sound with overwhelming overtones, and its fluctuating range is very comforting. It allows for the "rimming" technique, where sound is produced by continuously rubbing the rim.
The cushion is made of simple cotton-linen fabric with a soft texture, which suppresses its presence as a tool and naturally blends into the space. A brass ring is used for the handle, allowing you to secure it stably by putting your finger through it.
Even a small sound spreads pleasantly, helping you regulate your breathing and switch your mindset as a signal to "start" or "end" something.
For daily meditation and mindfulness habits, use this "sound signal" that doesn't disrupt tranquility.
